Shop FAQ

What if I want a print by a Folio artist that isn’t in the shop?
We often organise custom prints using different images, and we can also produce prints at bespoke sizes or using alternative materials. Just let us know what you’re after and we will try to make it happen.

Are the prints approved by the artists?
Yes, we work directly with the artists, who supply the master artworks or digital files for the production of Folio’s prints.

How are the prints produced?
Unless otherwise specified, all Folio’s prints are ‘giclée’ prints, which are high-quality artists’ prints produced on a large-format printer using pigment-based inks. The production methods are museum quality: the paper is acid-free artists’ paper and the inks have special archival properties that the manufacturers claim keeps them lightfast under normal conditions for more than 200 years.

How do I care for my prints?
We recommend that prints are kept out of high-humidity environments and are not hung in direct sunlight. If you are concerned about sunlight affecting your print, specialist framers offer museum glass in their frames to reduce UV rays.

How long will orders take to arrive?
We aim to have orders dispatched with two weeks, but please allow 28 days for delivery. If you need the order sooner or have particular deadline, such as birthday, let us know and we will try to ensure that the print is delivered in time.

When is the latest I can order before Christmas?
Orders to be delivered in the UK before Christmas must be placed no later than 15 December.

What delivery service do you use?
UK orders are sent by Royal Mail’s ‘Special Delivery’, overseas orders are sent by Royal Mail’s ‘International Signed For’ airmail. All packages require a signature on delivery and can be tracked online while in the UK.

How will the prints be packaged?
The prints are wrapped in acid-free tissue paper then packaged within sturdy, wide-diameter postal tubes.

What if a print arrives damaged?
We will send a replacement print. Please send us photos of the damage. (In exceptional conditions, we may ask that you return the damaged print to us in its original packaging.)

What is your returns policy?
You can return an undamaged print in its original packaging for any reason up to two weeks after it has been dispatched and we will refund the purchase price. Please contact us to arrange a return.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to any country Royal Mail delivers to.

Do you accept payments in different currencies?
We accept a range of different currencies, including British Pounds Sterling, US Dollars, Japanese Yen, Euros, etc.

Which credit and debit cards do you accept?
We accept most major credit and debit cards, including AmEx, Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, etc.
