Joanna Lisowiec

Joanna Lisowiec is an illustrator, designer and printmaker originally from Poland who now lives in the UK. She studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art where she learned print-making and fell in love with the bold, rustic qualities of linocut print. Joanna has developed digital illustration techniques that mimic linocut and engraving, allowing for a traditional aesthetic within a contemporary work flow.

Prior to becoming independent, she worked in design agencies, focusing on packaging, where she expanded her skillset in illustration, design, and custom typography. She now works on a range of projects, including publishing, packaging, editorial, and advertising, for an array of global clients. Joanna keeps her work fresh by working on personal projects and looking for inspiration in the natural world, period architecture, history, and folklore!
